Copy my game to my hard-drive?

I've just bought a disc of the Scrabble game. I Must use the disc in the cd-drive, in order the play the game. If I copy the game disc to my hard-drive, will I Still be able play my game and...free up my cd-drive for other things? Thanks, Harold.
