Ok i need help with this guy i like, please!!!?

I am in the 8th grade and theres this guy i like but i dont know if he likes me. I told one of my guy friends that i liked this guy and then he told the guy that i like him. Then on facebook, the guy that I like started chatting with me and said, "so ---- told me that u like me" and I said "thats random" and he said "yea" and then i dont know what i was thinking but just in case he didnt like me i put "well i think your really nice and everything but i dont like you that way" and then this is the part i was wondering about: he said "idc haha its just that he told me u did". my other friend told me that when he said "idc" means that he does care, he just wants to play it cool and hide that he cares. And she said if he didnt care then he would have said "ok" instead or maybe wouldnt have even brought it up. Does this mean he likes me? Also he is in my homeroom and occasionally says something to me but not very often and i am very shy so i reply vaguely. And sometimes it seems like from the corner of my eye i can see him looking at me. In social studies cl last year he talked to me sometimes. But i dont know. Please help...do you think this guy likes me? If it seems like he does then what should I do?
