How can i tell when my chi is ready ......or completely hot?

ok so today i made my final decision and desided to just get a chi......it is a pink speiceal addition chi....[ sorry i cant spell today] and since it dosent beep or anything when its ready i dont know when its ready...how long should i wait......i dont want to touch it tho...
